Pittsburgh Hotel

If you are taking the train from NYC to the Pittsburgh start line you will arrive at about 8 p.m., and you will need a hotel room for the night of Friday June 7th.  You must book this hotel room yourself; we cannot book a Pittsburgh hotel room for you.

Why all this fuss with hotel rooms?  The alternative was to smoosh everyone into a crowded charter bus and leave NYC at 2 a.m. in order to get to Pittsburgh in time to pedal, and that just didn't sound all that appealing to us!

SO... how to pick a hotel for the night?

The train will arrive in Pittsburgh at about 8 p.m. at:

In the morning you meet up with us here to get your bike from our truck and start pedaling:

There are lots of hotels nearby to choose from. One to consider is:

It is moderately priced for this neighborhood, and it is right across the street from where we will start the ride in the morning.   It's about a 20-minute walk from the train station, or a short taxi/Uber/Lyft ride.

There are lots of other hotel choices in the area -- take your pick.  We do not profit from your hotel stay in any way.  Click on the View Larger map button below to see hotel prices from Google.  Be sure to enter the correct dates for your stay.  

You'll see the prices from Google, but you may get a better price using other websites: Kayak, Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline...

By the way, this is the reason we don't book the hotel room for you -- you actually pay less by booking online yourself compared to us buying a large block of rooms from the hotel directly.  Go figure!
